What this tool does, what it deliberately does not do, and how to end up with a code that actually scans.
Do these QR codes ever expire?
No. Your link is encoded directly into the pattern, so the code does not route through this site. It keeps working even if QuickQR disappears, and there is nothing to renew.
Where are my codes stored?
Nowhere. Everything is generated in your browser and never sent to a server — no account, no upload, no database, not even a cookie. Close the tab and it is gone, so download anything you want to keep.
Can I track how many people scan it?
No. Scan counts require the code to point at a redirect service that logs each visit, which means storing your data and running a server. This tool does neither. If you need analytics, you need a paid dynamic-QR service.
Can I edit a code after printing it?
No, for the same reason. The destination is baked into the pattern, so changing where it goes means generating and reprinting a new code. Check the link carefully before a large print run.
Why does it warn me about my colours?
A scanner needs clear separation between the code and its background. Two similar tones can look fine on screen and fail under a phone camera in ordinary light, so the contrast is measured and flagged before you download.
What does error correction do?
It adds redundancy so the code still reads when it is scratched, printed small, or partly covered. Higher levels survive more damage but make the pattern denser. Medium suits most uses; go higher for anything printed small or handled a lot.
What size should I print it?
A rough rule is that the code should be about a tenth of the distance it will be scanned from — a code read at one metre wants to be around ten centimetres across. Downloads are 512px, which prints cleanly up to roughly 4cm at 300dpi.
Does the frame or module shape affect scanning?
The three corner squares always render as hard squares no matter which shape you pick, because those are what a scanner locks onto and rounding them hurts read rates. Frames sit outside the quiet zone, so they are safe.
